Actually Small Worlds are any structure of network which has the property of having a short distance between almost any two nodes. Thus ScaleFreeNetworks are also small worlds.

But when we use "small world" as a type of network we set-up, we mean a locally connected network which has a few random rewirings necessary to make the world significantly smaller.


If you don't like this use of the term ... complain here, and suggest a better term.
